SEC official to kick off inaugural INVESTKentucky conference
LOUISVILLE, KY. (April 6, 2004)

The Securities and Exchange Commission attorney responsible for overseeing the SEC's ongoing Enron investigation will be the keynote speaker at the inaugural INVESTKentucky equity investment conference next June.

Linda Chatman Thomsen, deputy director of the Security and Exchange Commission's Division of Enforcement, will open the June 3 conference to be held at Louisville's Churchill Downs. She will discuss securities enforcement and compliance issues for public companies.

INVESTKentucky is the first professional investment conference to bring together publicly traded companies of various sizes, industries and capitalizations in Kentucky. Company management from about a dozen Kentucky public companies will reach an audience of institutional money managers, equity analysts and other financial professionals from the Midwest and elsewhere.

Ms. Thomsen joined the SEC in 1995 as assistant chief litigation counsel, and assumed her current position in 2002. Before joining the SEC, Ms. Thomsen was in private practice in Washington and New York, and prior to that, had served as an assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland.
