INVESTKentucky to showcase Kentucky public companies to analysts, fund managers
LOUISVILLE, KY. (March 10, 2004)

Nearly a dozen public companies headquartered in Kentucky will be participating in an exclusive investment conference expected to draw analysts and professional money managers from the region and beyond.

The one-day, invitation-only event is the inaugural INVESTKentucky professional investment conference. It’s the first such conference to bring together publicly traded companies of various sizes, industries and capitalizations in Kentucky. It will be held at the Churchill Downs’ Jockey Club Suites facility on June 3, 2004.

“This is a way to showcase Kentucky’s most dynamic public companies in a manner that highlights the best of what Kentucky has to offer,” said Terry McWilliams, a Louisville investor relations counselor who is the conference’s organizer.

Institutional investors and equity analysts who attend will hear CEOs, CFOs and investor relations professionals of some of Kentucky’s best-known – and not-as-well known – companies talk about past performance and future growth plans.

Companies committed to the conference include (in alphabetical order) Brown-Forman Corporation (NYSE: BFb), Churchill Downs Incorporated (Nasdaq: CHDN), First Federal Financial Corporation (Nasdaq: FFKY), The Genlyte Group Incorporated (Nasdaq: GLYT), Republic Bancorp Inc. (Nasdaq: RBCAA), S.Y. Bancorp Inc. (AMEX: SYI), Sypris Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: SYPR), ThermoView Industries, Inc. (AMEX: THV), Thomas Industries, Inc. (NYSE:TII), and Yum! Brands, Inc. (NYSE: YUM).

The conference’s sponsors include title sponsor Hilliard Lyons along with Crowe Chizek, Frost Brown Todd, NASDAQ, Reuters, Merrill Corporation, and CCBN. In-kind contributors include Fetter, Atea Design, Leapfrog Interactive and BusinessWire. The Louisville Society of Financial Analysts has endorsed the event, and Greater Louisville Inc. is supporting the event.

Admission to the track, continental breakfast and lunch have been underwritten by the conference and its sponsors. Attendance is limited to available slots on an invitation-only, first-come, first-serve basis. The conference hotel is the Brown Hotel (www.brownhotel.com), 335 W. Broadway, in downtown Louisville.

Besides hearing corporate investment stories, professional investors and analysts will have the opportunity for face-to-face access with company executives. Following the sessions, and fitting with Kentucky tradition, the attendees during the afternoon will be able to enjoy another Churchill Downs’ highlight – Spring Meet racing. The INVEST Kentucky sessions will be held in the Churchill Downs’ Triple Crown Ballroom, and Derby and Oaks Rooms, as well as in the racing suites.

INVEST Kentucky LLC was formed specifically to facilitate this first investment conference and bring together senior management of select Kentucky public companies. It is guided by a steering committee of chief financial officers and investor relations professionals from participating companies.

“The inspiration for undertaking an investment conference in Louisville came from what some volunteers did with a showcase in North Carolina in February,” McWilliams said. “The financial community response was very respectable, showing that such a forum with dynamic companies could attract investor attention.”
